You said YES! You have the ring on your finger. Now what? The planning begins. Or if you’re like me and started planning and dreaming about your wedding when you were 10 years old, the planning continues. It’s time to make all those wedding dreams become reality. starting with booking your venue, which is one of the FIRST moves to make in wedding planning. (Aside from creating your budget and picking a date. I will go into more detail on those later)

In order to find the venue that will accommodate your dream wedding, here are a few things to think about.

Location. Traditionally, the wedding location is in the bride's hometown or somewhere close, but that isn’t always the case anymore. In deciding on a location, think about where the majority of your family and friends will be traveling from. Wherever that is, it’s best to have the wedding closest to them. Whether that be the town the bride grew up in or the town her and her fiance met, pick a city/state that will work best for everyone. This will guarantee those on your guest list will be able to make it.

Season. Deciding on what season you want to get married will help you figure out if your wedding should be indoors or outdoors. If you have always wanted a springtime wedding, maybe a ceremony in a glass chapel with a yard party reception would be nice. Or for that summer or fall wedding, think about doing an outdoor ceremony and reception in the barn. Or what about that winter wonderland wedding you may desire? Whatever season it may be, find something suitable so you and your guests are not too hot or too cold.

Guest Size. This is an important thing to think about. You may have found your dream venue, but your planned guest size is too large. Think through whether you need to narrow down your guest list or find a larger venue to accommodate all your friends and family. Make sure you have enough room for ceremony seating and space for all of your reception needs. You’ll want plenty of room to dance the night away.

IF you already found your venue, WAHOO!!!!!! What helped you decide on your wedding venue?

Comment and let me know below. I would love to hear what venue you booked.

Much love,
